CAL Berkeley Gun Club: Any Further Developments? Sweatshirts?
Question:
About three months ago there was a post announcing the first organizing meeting of the Cal gun or shooting club. As an alumnus, I am very interested. Anyone hear any more of it? I really want a sweatshirt, tshirt or cap! How about a camo CAL baseball cap for duck hunting? Coffee mug? Go Bears! Actually, I just got this e-mail a couple of days ago. Fellow Freedom Fighter, I hope your semester is getting off to a good start. The Berkeley Gun Club has been quite so far, but our exciting schedule of activities is just now getting underway. The first club shooting day is designated as Jan. 30th. I know many of you have expressed interest in this, and if you are interested in coming, please reply to this address ASAP and indicate whether you can provide or need transportation. We will be shooting at Target Masters which is a very reasonable drive from here. No, you do not need a gun (you can rent one there or borrow one from other club members). Yes, you are encouraged to invite friends. And no, you don’t need to know how to shoot. First timers will receive a short safety demonstration before we depart. In other news, T-Shirts will be available this week. We have two shirt designs. Both say "Berkeley Gun Club" on the front and both have a logo on the back of a bear with crossed rifles behind him. Two different quotes are available: "Live Free or Die" and "Fighting for the Right to Keep and Arm Bears." Both will be available either at the first shootout or if you catch us tabling on Sproul next week. If you are interested in joining the fun of tabling and pissing off all the liberals on this campus, feel free to reply to this address with a tentative schedule. The club’s first large scale operation will be our "Beginner’s Night" in mid-february. We will be very heavily advertising this event around campus and are requesting that people help by putting a few individual club made flyers near their place of residency or where you they fit. Just keep this in mind and stay tuned for more information. The best thing you can do is invite your friends and help show people that guns are not just black evil things in movies, but can also be loads of fun and a great source of stress relief. Make sure you RSVP for the club shootout this weekend. Your questions and comments are always welcomed.
