ATV 1998YAMAHA 600 GRIZZLY
Question:
Depending on what and where you are hunting will determind which ATV you get I LOVE my Polaris 6X6 big boss. Its used every day at my farm and when you go off road with it nothing will stop that 6 wheel postive traction. I’ve had honda 4X4’s that wouldn’t even start to climb some of the hills it goes up without even straining. It has a dump bed that can carry 800lbs of gear or game in it. Its great for hauling lumber in to build tree stands or hell a log house if you want. Mine is used around this place for everything from hauling hay to rounding up the cows. The best part is its a tax write off if’n you got a farm and because its concidered a utility hauler instead of a ATV full corvage ins. runs about 80 dollars a year. I saved enough to make up the difference in price from a 4X4 the first year. My wife loves it to , she said it was the best wheel borrow I’d ever bought her. She uses it haul dirt and natural firterlizer for her flowers. It can be hauled in a full size truck with the bed down or on a 8ft trailer. In Alabama its concidered fram equipment and thus is street legal, top speed in high gear is about 55 or 60 and its like riding on rails but will out turn a Honda 4X4. All the people I know that have one have never had a complaint P.S. if you want a bit more traction you can get a set of tracks for the rear and you have a minnie half track, but so far I haven’t needed them

1.) Where can I find out what the dealer cost is on this particular atv. I want the dealer to make some profit but not a killing on me. If I know what he pays I have more leverage to bargain with. 2.) What is the mpg on the Grizzly 600? 3.) Are there any other models that have electronic /pushbutton 2wd/4wd? 4.) Are there any other atvs out there that offer more than the Grizzley that have more to offer, not counting the 600 cc engine . Such as the engine braking that the Grizzley offers where the other models just free wheel down a steep hill etc. 5.) Are there any problems with a yamaha that I should know about before I buy one? Yessir, check out the Max ATV. Assuming you want a mcchine to get you through tough terrain and conditions, that you are not just running roads. Compared to a Max, every other ATV is just a toy. Ken: I don’t know the dealer cost, but this is a new model and I doubt you can get more than 5% off list, if that. reliability is yet to be proven – but I expect it from Yamaha. MPG – don’t know Polaris also has push button 2wd/4wd. But why? The only reason to change from 4×4 to 2×4 is riding fast and sliding the back end around curves – things you WILL get hurt eventually. I rolled my old Honda 350 Foreman and didn’t enjoy it. No, I’m not an old fuddydud, but I’ve passed that stage and I simply use my utility ATV as It was intended. If you want to ride like the wind, get a Wolverine or Scrambler – units with the suspension and handling for it. Polaris has a kit to add for engine braking. And the Kawasaki Praire claims some sort of engine braking i think. Are you dead set on an automatic transmission? many have what I consider dangerous top speeds – you don’t need to go 55 mph on and ATV Note the OEM replacement belt on the Grizzley is $131.00 Not chump change. Personally, I love my Honda 400 4×4. No, its not an automatic, but it has so much torque you rarely need to shift. Plus it has that Honda bulletproof reliability. Get one with shaft drive! No chains! PS, I understand the Grizzly 600 engine is based on a yamaha motorcycle engine and guys have already added race heads, pipes, etc to get up to 55 HP! Matt – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> 1.)
