Guided Goose Hunting in South Texas
Question:
I live in south Texas and last year I and four friends went on a guided goose hunt in El Campo, Tx. We had a great hunt and shot a lot of birds. The only bad part was that our guide didn’t care about the hunt and could of cared less about how many birds we shot. By 9 o’clock, the guide was hinting that he was ready to go and the hunt was not supposed to end to noon. There was still plenty of geese coming in. Needless to say, we were not happy with our guide. I would like to go another hunt in this area but through someone else. Can anyone please send me e-mail on some good outfitters in the El Campo area? Thanks for the info, Tommy.

Could anyone responding please post to the group and/or e-mail me as well. I would like to try goose hunting, but am a little intimidated by the idea of a 1000+ decoy spread. Thanks Jay

I have hunted with many of the Goose hunting Outfitters in the greater Houston Tx area and based on your description of the hunt have a good idea which outfitter you had for your El Campo Tx area hunt. In my opinion the following outfitters will give you a good hunt: Texas Waterfowl Outfitters Katy Tx. 800-899-2650 Bob Lany organizes the hunts Good property in Katy, Eagle Lake, El Campo area Busy on weekends Third Coast Outfitter Bay City Tx. 409-245-3071 Bobby Hale organizes the hunts. Good property in El Campo, Bay City area If you really want a high volume no limit GOOSE hunt let me give you information on Argentina!!! Rex Reid R&R Adventures Hunts for the physically challenged.

Ken Ihrer and I are going goose hunting with Bay Prarie Outfitters (based out of Houston) in El Campo on Dec. 13. I plan on putting in a report to the group on the results. If they’re good, I would like to try to book a sand hill crane hunt with them next year. The video footage they gave me for that looked REALLY fun.
