Hunting Asheville NC Questions
Question:
I will be in Asheville, NC on 10/18/00. Which seasons is it and were can I go to get a deer? Public land would be fine and an affordable local guide or hunting camp is not out of the question. Seeing how I’ll be paying for a wedding that week, public land might be best. Does NC have its Fish and Game department on line? Please feel free to give me any sites that would help me in my in my quest for a NC buck, PS, What will the weather be like then? Thanks. Plenty of public land around western NC. Archery season, perhaps muzzleloading season, around then. NC’s Wildlife Resources Commission website is at: http://www.wildlife.state.nc.us/ The weather? Who knows? Hard to tell in the hills… Generally cool to cold mornings, warm afternoons during that time of year, depending on cloud cover and elevation. Yes, the regulations are on-line at http://www.wildlife.state.nc.us/LawEnforcement/digest/cover.htm I also suggest checking out http://www.ncdeer.com/ . They’ll have pointers to guides and hunting camps. I haven’t hunted that end of the state, but I suspect the Pisgah Game Lands or the Nantahala National Forest might be what you’re looking for. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I will be in Asheville, NC on 10/18/00.
