Best Turkey Gun?

Question:

>bject:      Re: Best Turkey Gun?

I have a Mossberg 500 12ga. with an extra full choke. It has a 2.5x scope. It is wet around here in May so I don’t mind taking it out and getting it soaked. It shoots well. I have got 4 turkeys in the spring in the last two seasons. Never a problem with it. I would not want to put a 4 or 500.00 gun through what this one has been through. Either of those would be fine, as would the Remington or Mossberg turkey guns.  I bought a mossberg because mine gets rained on a lot, which would be a bummer with a really fine gun like a Browning.  (I have a browning I use for upland bird hunting, but I don’t go sit in the rain for hours waiting for a grouse and listening to my gun rust <g>…).  Mine shoots the pattern right where the fiber optic sights say it should, cycles every time, is nice and heavy to help with that big magnum recoil, and didn’t break the bank ($239).  But the main reason I went Mossberg was the position of the safety… -jeff Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
